Update multiple Hiback clients in bulk mode version 4.7
NovaBACKUP DataCenter

You can update clients in a bulk using GUI->Administration->SWDistribution.
Here is how it works:

1. Select "Create new client list" from the dropdown menu.
The list of agents will be processed and OS, wordlength and the according Hiback
install package will be determined. This list is written into the file:

installdir/sw/nodelists/ini_%nodename%_%date%_%time%.un

Note*  You have the option to edit file with an editor if neccessary, for instance if an agent was down or you get
a connection refused, delete the respective line. Keep the heading line and save this file.   This would save you time from having to rebuild an entire client list again.

2. Back in GUI->Administration->SWDistribution, select the file you have edited before
and click "Update...". The nodelist from the file will be processed and the Hiback update will be done
one by one.

3. At the end of the process you might still have some nodes which could not be processed.
They will be listed in:

installdir/sw/nodelists/neg_%nodename%_%date%_%time%.un

Here you might see error messages like:

java.io.FileNotFoundException: C:\Program Files (x86)\novastor\ixt\Hiback\Hiback.exe (The process ....

The reason for this error can be:
MS EventViewer GUI is open and keeps text segments of Hiback.exe locked
Solution: Close Eventviewer GUI on the respective system
WMI service is running and keeps text segments of Hiback.exe locked
Solution: restart WMI service on the respective system
Hiback.exe itself is running
Solution: either kill job or better wait til it is finished and process this node manually in NodesManager

4. Afterwards, choose the neg_ list again and click "Update &hellip" to process the failed nodes list again.
