Multiple backup jobs hang unexpectedly

Looking into the Central Management GUI -> Monitoring you may see a lot of backup jobs active unexpectedly and longer than you are used to.
The reason may be that the agents can not call back the commandserver via TCP.
You can check if you encounter this situation if you use the Commander GUI (ixt_cmdr.exe) -> system info -> remote objects and see all the agents that appear to have an active status.
When you test connection on some of them and the error "cannot callback commandserver" appears, this means that commandserver can connect to the agent, but the agent cannot connect back on a different connection.
On the agent itself, you will find agent.log error messages
java.rmi.UnknownHostException: Unknown host *your_commandserver_IP*; nested exception is:
java.net.UnknownHostException: *your_commandserver_IP*
On each node either restart the agent service directly on the node or via remote control,
or use ixt_cmdr GUI -> system info -> remote objects to shutdown/start/test connection
